Build new ads in order to promote a new concert, a new album or to reach new fans.

In general,

  • Ads contain descriptive text in order to get your message out to the world.
  • Add songs so users can preview your music.
  • Provide similar artists so users will know what you sound like. Or if you are advertising a concert, list the other artists in the lineup.
  • Drive traffic to your own website, merchandise store or concert ticket provider to increase your sales.

My songs aren't uploading. What gives?

If your songs do not show up within an hour or so, we can upload the music for you. You can send an email to artists@grooveshark.com and we'll make sure someone gets your songs online as expediently as possible.

I've uploaded my songs but they aren't showing up when I search for them on Grooveshark. What's the deal?

It takes a little bit of time before your songs become searchable on Grooveshark after you uploaded them. It shouldn't take more than a day for them to show up on Grooveshark, but if they are still M.I.A. after two days then send us an email and we'll fix it immediately.

  • Remove

Only some of my songs were uploaded. Why is that?

Please make sure that the mp3's ID3 metadata are correct, because we group together songs based on their ID3 tags. So if you have two different files that have the same metadata, we might accidentally mark both as the same song. If you think this is your problem, you can ask for help at artists@grooveshark.com and we'll help you fix the problem.

I only want to upload some of my songs. How do I ensure that Grooveshark only uploads the songs I want?

We understand that there might be some extremely personal songs you don't want the public to be able to listen to. To ensure your private demos don't make it online, simply uncheck the files you don't want on Grooveshark before you initiate the upload process. Grooveshark will then upload your desired tracks and your private songs will remain private.

Autoplay campaigns allow your music to be recommended into a user's Autoplay session after a similar artist is played. This enables you to target an audience that prefers a specific genre of music.

Why isn't my Autoplay Campaign yielding positive results?

If your Autoplay campaign isn't performing the way you want, you may be matched up with dissimilar artists. If you sound like Avril Lavigne and decide to match yourself with Moby, then your songs will be "frowned" out of circulation by our users. It is absolutely necessary to pick similar sounding artists to ensure that you're marketing your songs to fans who enjoy your brand of music.

  • Remove

What is the point of selecting similar artists?

By selecting similar artists you are giving Grooveshark an idea of which bands to match you with in a user's Autoplay session. Be sure to pick bands you're actually similar to, because if you pick a dissimilar band you run the risk of returning negative results in your Autoplay campaign.

  • Remove

I've gotten several of my songs "favorited". What does that mean?

When a user favorites a song, that means they're saving it into their library so they can listen to it again at a later date. Favorites are very, very good.
